Overview
The Summer ‘18 Release of HG for Salesforce is a major release that brings a significant number of new functionality and enhancements to allow customers to fully utilize technographics in their sales and marketing processes - including support for Discover Companies, Enrichment of Leads, and Firmographics. There are also several administrative enhancements that make reporting and management easier.
Enhancements
Lead Enrichment
HG for Salesforce can now append technographic data directly to Lead records in Salesforce. Data is stored in a custom object that is a child of the Lead object.
Matching on the lead records will primarily be based on the Email address of the lead, but will also take into account fuzzy matching on the Company name and Address information if available.
Discover Companies
Discover Companies in HG for Salesforce allows users to search for additional net new accounts with specific technographics and import them directly into their Salesforce org. For example: a user could search for all companies using Marketo in the United States with more than 5000 employees.

Firmographics
HG for Salesforce now includes Firmographic information such as number of employees, annual revenue, and industry. This information is available on the HG Data Technology object and can be pushed up to the account level via Workflow Rule or other process automation features available in Salesforce.com.
The additional firmographic fields include:
- Employee Range
- Revenue Range
- Industry
- Sub-Industry
- URL
- HQ Address

Product, Vendor, and Category Static IDs
The addition of HG Data unique IDs for the Product, Vendor, Category, and Parent Category allow for consistent and unchanging ways to write reports, or processes. For example, while previously reports could be created based on Product name, if the product name were to change from “Acme Plus” to “Acme +” the report would no longer be able to find the right technologies. By including a static ID for each product, reports can be written so they always pull in the correct information.
The new ID fields are:
- Product ID
- Vendor ID
- Category ID
- Parent Category ID
